BriefStocks ("we," "us," "our") operates the website briefstocks.com. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we protect it.
2. Data we collect
Account data. When you sign up we store your email address and a hashed password (or your Google account identifier if you use Google Sign-In). We never see or store your Google password.
Usage data. We track the number of scans you perform each day to enforce plan limits. We do not log which tickers you search.
Payment data. Payments are processed by Stripe. We store your Stripe customer ID and subscription status but never see your full card number.
Technical data. Standard server logs may include IP address, browser type, and referring URL. These are used for security and debugging only.
3. How we use your data
We use your data to provide and improve the service: authenticating you, enforcing scan limits, processing payments, and sending transactional emails (password resets, subscription confirmations). We do not sell your data. We do not run behavioral advertising.
4. Third-party services
We rely on the following processors:
Supabase — authentication and database hosting (your account and usage data). Stripe — payment processing (your card and billing details). Vercel — website hosting and edge functions. Benzinga — financial data provider (no user data is shared with Benzinga).
Each processor has its own privacy policy. We recommend reviewing them.
5. Cookies
We use essential cookies only — session tokens required for authentication. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies.
6. Data retention
Account data is retained while your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days. Anonymized, aggregated usage statistics may be retained indefinitely.
7. Your rights
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing support@briefstocks.com. If you are in the EU/EEA, you have additional rights under the GDPR, including the right to data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
8. Security
We use HTTPS everywhere, encrypted databases, and follow industry-standard security practices. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt. However, no system is 100% secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children
BriefStocks is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
10. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice on the site. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
